She shows many of the characteristics you would expect from her dam Stonewall’s Mona Lisa (long, level goats with good legs, nice width and good udders). Her sire, Rosasharn Tom’s Water Tabby*S, fathered three of our senior does (thanks, Laura) and Tabby’s lovely dairy skin, angulation, and overall frame are shown off well with Luna. She is a very “proper” doe in the Rosasharn tradition. She toes out a little in the back and is slightly narrow up front, so we are pairing her with bucks that open up that frame in her offspring. Her upside is great – she has flat, sprung ribs, a wonderfully loose “dairy” skin, plenty of milk (her buckling and doeling gained the most weight of any of our kids by far and she still gave us plenty on the side), and has teats with wonderful texture that produce strong jets when hand-milking. Her 2007 kids by Cody were both retained – Selene is long and angular like Luna and Helios is nice combination of Cody’s strong limbs and Luna’s angular frame (like her sire and maternal grand-sire). We are really pleased with what she brings our herd.
